Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Updated: Jan 11, 2021

Let Halloween serve as a reminder to check your BOObies!

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, let's check in on our health and take time to honor those lost to breast cancer.

Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Each year in the United States, over 250,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 42,000 will die from the disease. We all know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and many of us have lost friends and loved ones.

Keep track of your breast health

Many women, including my dear friend Wendy, have been lost too soon. They have also contributed to research that benefits the fight against breast cancer today. Let's keep the conversation going around breast health, and ensure that we are taking steps to screen for and catch breast cancer as early as possible:

- Talk to your health care provider and make sure that you know your risk factors

- Schedule a mammogram after talking with your health care provider

- Perform monthly self-breast exams and keep checking your BOObies!

To you best health!
