GLIM is excited to welcome Peter to the team this summer!
GLIM is a small and mighty woman-owned team that welcomes interns each summer to support their educational journeys with integrative and functional medicine as they support GLIM's clients. Please join GLIM in welcoming Peter to the Summer 2026 GLIMtern team!
Peter's Welcome & Bio

I am currently a senior at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, studying Health Technology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. I am working to get my bachelor’s degree and pursue further education for a career in medicine. I want to learn more about integrative medicine and believe in a patient-centered approach when treating complex conditions such as diabetes and other metabolic disorders. I love dogs and cats and like spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy getting exercise in the form of weightlifting and long walks with my dog.
We love to ask all of our GLIMterns about their favorite fruit or vegetable!
I am a huge fan of carrots. I can eat carrots in whatever preparation they are made in, whether it's roasted, boiled or sauteed. Personally, I think sauteed carrots are the best preparation but I enjoy them in soups, salads, and even cakes! Another thing I love about carrots is they are rich in beta-carotene, which can be metabolized by the body into Vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for vision, skin health and immune function. Since it is a fat-soluble vitamin, it’s best taken in a meal with fat (olive oil, avocado, cheeses, etc.). There are plenty of reasons to enjoy additional carrots in your diet!
